Abstract:

The unique style of singer/songwriter Caetano Veloso is undeniably Brazilian and over his long-spanning career his distinctive style of tropicalia has proven phenomenally popular. This concert, from the Metropolitan in Rio de Janeiro, features Veloso singing classic Hispanic songs from the 1940s and 50s, presented in his own, very personal, way - including Cucurrucucu Paloma as featured in Pedro Almodovar's 2002 film Talk to Her. He appears with an orchestra conducted by his long-serving musical director Jacques Morelenbaum.
