Everyone has to start somewhere, and Carrie Bradshaw is no different. Many readers will recognize her as the chic, beautiful, and fiercely independent writer from the hit show "Sex and the City." We meet the young Carrie, the one with dreams of being a writer and aspirations of living in New York City. She is a senior in high school, never had a boyfriend, and has a close-knit group of friends, or so she thinks. Although this book has the typical stuff about teens experimenting with boys, booze and breaking the law, the story is irresistible. The terrifying caste system we all remember from high school is delivered with a startling mix of reality and revenge. Carrie and her friends ride the waves of their senior year with style, occasionally falling out of the boat and being devoured by sharks. Readers will enjoy seeing the world through the honest and quirky eyes of Carrie. They will also relate to her struggles with her family, enemies, and finding out who she really is.
