The papers comprise of the personal, some professional and business manuscripts of multiple generations of the Cary Family. They include the papers of Trumbull Cary of Batavia and of his brother, Ebenezer Cary; of Trumbull Cary's son, Dr. Walter Cary and his Wife Julia Love Cary; and of their six children, namely, Walter Cary 2nd, Thomas Cary, and George Cary. The papers also include Maria M. Love, sister of Julia Love Cary and a few letters another sister, Elizabeth Love Cary. It should be noted there are letters from Julia Love Cary's parents, Thomas C. and Maria Maltby Love. The papers also include correspondence of Allithea Cary Lango, the daughter of George Cary and Allithea Birge.
