Abstract:

These civil and criminal case files contain records from individual assistants, from extended case files of various assistants, and from specific cases.

Case files from the following attorneys are present: Frank Berry, Frank Carroll, Ray Corns, Lloyd R. Cress, Edward L. Fossett, J. T. Frankenberg, Walter C. Herdman, H. N. McTyeire, Kelly Moss, Joe Nagle, Joyce Ferris Nedde, James G. Osborn, Earle V. Powell, Charles W. Runyan, David Schneider, W. F. Simpson, Ronald M. Sullivan, Fred R. Whalen, and F. E Wood.

Documentation within files consists of legal briefs; court decisions, including those of the Board of Claims; correspondence between litigants; and final dispositions of cases.

In an important 1971 case known as the "library books anti-trust case," the Commonwealth brought suit for price fixing against major book publishers, the most prominent of which was Harper and Row Publishers, Inc.
