Unbelievably unsympathetic characters   (2013-02-16)

One of the few books I never finished. Read first 70 pages and last 100 pages. Agreed with friend who said that Rowling was attempting to document every possible social sin. Most characters appeared too cartoonish in their total lack of redeeming characteristics. Real people are a mix of good and evil. Hard to believe or keep reading about characters who have no offsetting good to balance their petty hatreds. Teenagers mostly behaved more responsibly than the adults in the story.
