Catalogue of valuable printed books and a few manuscripts : comprising the library of the late W.L. Courtney, M.A., LL.D. editor of the "Fortnightly review," consisting principally of the works of his contemporaries, many with inscriptions or autograph letters, and including Hardy's Dynasts with title to vol. I dated 1903, and an interesting letter from the author referring to the book; illustrated books and works on engraving, etching, &c. the property of the late Sidney Lovell Phipson, Esq. of the Inner Temple; English literature; travel; art; and history, selected from the libraries of John Coventry, Esq., Burgate Manor, Fordingbridge; of Lt.-Col. J. Lindsay, Roehampton Villa, Putney Vale; and of the late Arthur Stanley Towsey, Esq., M.A.; a small collection of fine and rare incunables, including an interesting fragment printed in the type of Gutenberg's 42-line Bible, c. 1455; a selection from the library at Cuckfield Place, Sussex (sold by order of the Sergison trustees), including a fine copy of the Fourth folio edition of Shakespeare's plays; and other properties : which will be sold by auction by Messrs. Sotheby & Co. ... on Monday, the 17th of June, 1929, and two following days.
