Abstract:

Cavalry charge: Two brothers who are not friends because they were fighting on different sides during the Civil War have to cooperate in order to defend themselves against an attack of Indians.

Against a crooked sky: Sam Sutter is the only one left who believes that his sister is still alive after her capture by Indians. Against the wishes of his family he embarks on a search for her, facing insurmountable odds and the dangers of the wilderness. His perseverance leads him to his sister, now married to an Indian prince but condemned to die for a petty crime. Sam now must face the toughest and possibly the last battle of his life.
