I was introduced to this book by a family member who really loved it.  I must say I do to!  This book has many colorful characters who are nowhere near black and white predictable pawns.  In fact, it's hard to know who to trust or what surprises might be around the corner.  In many books I can usually figure out the story line within the first few chapters but this book held my attention until the end and I can't wait for the story to continue.  I've read the book several times now and each time I get even more familiar with the characters and timeline of events.  I hope it gets picked up for a movie deal because I would love to see the characters in real life.

The fantasy genre has been around forever but Melissa McPhail's interesting use of worlds, different levels of magic, and multifaceted characters makes this book very unique and fun to read.  The options for expansion are boundless.  In the first few chapters we get introduced to many of the main characters who have faced unique trials and discover facts about themselves they could not imagine.  If you love fantasy books but want a refreshing breath of air, buy this book and prepare to be hooked!
