This is a great book to read if you are a fan of Cesar's show "Dog Whisperer" on National Geographic Channel. The best part about this book is his story of growing up in Mexico and illegally immigrating to the United States with a few dollars in his pocket and not speaking a lick of English. You really get an appreciation for his methodologies after reading his book and understanding how he was raised with dogs. The second part of his book goes into more training methods and the different kinds of dog personalities that can cause problem behavior. He preaches one main training rule to have a happy and stable dog: Exercise first, discipline second, and affection third. He believes in the United States, we put affection first, exercise second, discipline third and that is one of the reasons why we he sees so many unstable dogs. Basically as far as dog training goes, there is nothing new in this book that you haven't seen on his shows. But, if you want to get the scoop on how he became the "Dog Whisperer", then definitely read this book.
