Before this manuscript was rebound and repaired in 1990, it was in its original stab binding with a detached front cover made from marbled paper. It consisted of a series of single bifolia with the watermark of a horn and baldrick and, on leaves 1, 8, and 10, the countermark LF. These bifolia are now mounted individually on guards.

Abstract:

Several actors are named in the margins. Accompanying the volume are: letters from W.W. Greg, D. Nichol Smith and F.S. Boas to Austen-Leigh, with a few from Austen-Leigh to Boas, discussing the manuscript and its publication, 1938-1950, (2-22); a review of the edition from Notes and Queries April 1, 1950, p. 154, and R. Southern's article on the play from Theatre Notebook, vol. 4, No. 3 (April - June 1950), p. 65-68, (23-24); and a copy of F.S. Boas's edition, 1949, (25). At the end of the text is the license of the Master of the Revels, Sir Henry Herbert, April 13, 1667.
