Four early films in which Chaplin plays a variety of comedic characters. The Count: Charlie, an inept tailor's assistant, and his boss are rivals for the affections of Miss Moneybags. The Vagabond: Charlie as a street violinist falls in love only to win, lose, and regain the lady who is discovered to be wealthy. The Fireman: Charlie is a clumsy but eager apprentice fireman. Behind the screen: A satire of life at a silent movie studio, a thinly veiled satire of Mack Sennett's Keystone Company.
