Manuscripts by Angoff (literary criticism, history, poetry, memoir, essays, stories, articles, stage plays, and novels); manuscripts by others (articles, essays, poetry); printed material (chiefly periodicals); correspondence; photographs; legal material; audiotapes; artwork; memorabilia; diaries and journals; subject files; and miscellany.

Includes numerous items of notable correspondence by many important literary and cultural figures. Of particular interest are letters to Angoff from H.L. Mencken, who hired Angoff to help edit The American Mercury. Also of special interest are several letters to and from Henry Miller, including correspondence with Barthold Fles, Aldous Huxley, and Chazym Geldis; together with reviews and comments by various authors on Miller's Tropic of Cancer, in the form of passages deleted from letters to Miller from Blaise Cendrars, Louis Ferdinand Celine, Dorothy Dudley, Lawrence Durrell, Kay Boyle, Patrick Evans, Barclay Hudson, and Aldous Huxley and advertisements for Tropic of Cancer and other writings by Miller in the form of handouts from Obelisk Press. Other items of note are numerous letters and copies of legal documents regarding the dispute between Meyer Levin and Otto Frank over Levin's dramatization of The Diary of Anne Frank.
