Included are materials on historic music of California, travel, and his home, El Alisal. The collection spans Lummis's involvement with such institutions as the Los Angeles Public Library, Sequoya League, Landmarks Club, and Southwest Museum and publications such as The Land of Sunshine, Out West Magazine, and theLos Angeles Times. It also includes papers of Lummis's second wife, Frances Douglas, also known as Eve Lummis.
