Henry carries a puppy home one night when it was snowing. He is very careful not to slip or drop him and he decides to name him Charley. When he gets home his parents are very clear about where the puppy is supposed to sleep. He is supposed to sleep in the kitchen. Of course, in the middle of the night the puppy starts to cry and he winds up in Henry’s bed. This is a warm, soft picture book with wonderful evocative illustrations that are perfect for the text. Although this would be a great bedtime book, it would be used in story times and for SEL classes. I recommend it for grades K-2.
