Abstract:

Behind that curtain: When British Colonel John Beetham, who is hiding a pretty heiress from her philandering husband, is forced by a mysterious murder to flee across the globe to San Francisco, only detective Charlie Chan can prevent the enraged husband from getting his revenge on Beetham.

Black camel: When beautiful starlet Shelah Fane is murdered in Hawaii, suspicion points to a psychic advisor with a spirited nature. But when Chan uncovers a link to the unsolved murder of screen heartthrob Denny Mayo, the Chinese supersleuth soon discovers that, in Hollywood, fame can be murder!
