Abstract:

In this episode devoted to physics, Charlie interviews several physicists who are on the cutting edge of discovering the unifying theory which will explain the cosmos. In the first segment, Charlie interviews Martin Rees, Master of the Trinity College, Cambridge about Stephen Hawking and his work. In the second segment of the show, Charlie interviews Stephen Hawking and his daughter, Lucy, discussing, among other topics, the children's book they've recently published. Included between the segments are excerpts of interviews with physicists Brian Greene, originally aired on February 16, 1999 and Lisa Randall, originally aired on December 12, 2006, who discuss string theory and unseen dimensions, respectively.
