Follows the Central Philharmonic on the Midwestern leg of its twenty-six-city American tour, presenting excerpts of live performances and encounters between the Chinese and Americans, ranging from a visit to a farm in Iowa to a reception with the Chicago Symphony. Principal conductor Zuohuang Chen talks about the obstacles which Chinese musicians have overcome in order to play classical Western music and how he sees the Chinese becoming increasingly involved in the international music scene.
