Abstract:

Un chien andalou consists of bizarre and surreal images which may or may not mean anything. A woman's eye is slit open, a man pokes at a severed hand in the street with his cane. A man drags two grand pianos containing dead and rotting donkeys and live preists, a man's hand has a hole in the palm from which ants emerge. The hearts of age is surreal short of a street magician. The imaginative camera angles and special effects hint at the images. In Ballet Mechanique the director weaves images of geometric shapes and humans into a symbolic Freudian dance.
