Publisher Synopsis

'This volume will be of great benefit to practitioners.' - Community Care

?It is not that long ago that to raise the topic of children and young people as abusers rather than the abused was met with some alarm not only by lay observers but by some child care practitioners. Over recent years the authors gathered together in this volume have done us a great service by opening up the topic and sharing their ideas and experience of working with such troubled young people. The various contributions allow the reader to understand the theoretical and practice base of this important area of work. Policy makers and practitioners should read this volume and, in so doing, will draw much to inform their deliberations and practice in equal measure. This is a challenging area of work and the authors and editors are to be congratulated for their endeavours on our behalf.?
