Review of Chymia: Annual Studies in The History of Chemistry, Volume 10 by Henry M. Leicester (1965) published by the University of Pennsylvania Press, Philadelphia, PA.
Reviewer: William P. Palmer
The contents of this book are seven essays in the history of science. These are:
How Old Is Hydrochloric Acid? by Ladislao Reti
Christophle Glaser and the Traite de la Chymie, 1663 by Roy G. Neville
Berthollet, Proust, and Proportions by Satish C. Kapoor
Unpublished Letters from H. Sainte-Claire Deville to B. S. Yakobi by Yurii Ivanovich Solov'ev
Induced Oxidation-Reduction Processes, the History of a Chemical Paradox by Eduard Farber
A Precursor of the American Chemical Society¬ - Chandler and the Society of Union College by Egbert K. Bacon
And Historical Sketch of the Electron Theories of Organic Chemistry by G. V. Bykov
The whole series were intended to be published annually with the first volume in the series being published in 1949,but there were many delays in publishing and some years were completely missed. Only twelve books in this series were produced, which is unfortunate as they provide many excellent papers. Even so the studies as a whole provide an excellent resource in the History of Chemistry.
