A deliciously entertaining spin on a much overlooked period of American history. In the early 1800s the circus was all the entertainment necessary for such a young and expanding nation. Circus Rider follows the history of a much known Gilbert Stuart portrait on a trail leading from the War of 1812 to Woodstock. A most enjoyably well written piece of fiction/history.
