This is perhaps the only modern book on the finals days of the American Civil War in Greensboro. There are a lot of period sketches and photos of the events and people who were in Greensboro at the time of the surrender of the Army of Tennessee.

The only negative aspect of this book is the fact that the Greensboro Genealogical Society of Guilford County which published it has to charge an outrageous price due to the publisher they chose and perhaps the limited copies they printed. Otherwise, a terrific resource.

A copy can be found in the Everett-Thissen Research Library at Bennett Place State Historic Site in in Durham, North Carolina.
