Abstract:

Night mail follows the nightly journal of the "postal special" from London to Glasgow. The second work, New earth, is about the reclamation of the Zuiderzee in Holland in the late 1920's and early 1930's. The Song of Ceylon shows traditional culture and primitive economy of the Ceylonese contrasted with the influence of modern commerce. Housing problems is a documentary interview with people living in the slums of London.
