Résumé :
This drawing-room comedy is a modern verse play about the search for meaning, in which a psychiatrist is the catalyst for the action. "Eliot really does portray real-seeming characters. He cuts down his poetic effects to the minimum, and then finally rewards us with most beautiful poetry" (Stephen Spender).

"In all but 'about ten copies (at most)' of the impression, pages 35-36 are printed on a cancel leaf which corrects an error in the attribution of the last two speeches on page 35 ... Through oversight, the words 'first American edition' were omitted from the verso of the title-page on the first printing. Second and subsequent impressions may be identified by code symbols."--Gallup.
