Important finding regarding interpreting radio tracer turnover studies
This is my own masters thesis research so I'm probably the only person who will ever review it.
In the unlikely event anyone actually wants a copy of the thesis or an abstract they can contact me, the author, at acensor@fastmail.fm .

The findings regarding collegen metabolisms role in aging in this work are not really important, but if you do radioactive turnover studies one secondary finding I had during this work may be important in interpreting such findings:
Typically if the tracer is found diluted it is interpreted as turnover. In this project I was able to measure the total pool size and discovered that the dilution was largely due not to true turnover (removal and replacement of the original molecules in the pool) but by increase in the pool size. That is new material incorporated, not removal of the old material.
