Abstract:
Black leather dog collar has saw-tooth edges and is lined with chamois. In the center of the collar is a gold plate with "LADDIE BOY" in raised letters. On either side of the plate are gold nuggets and hearts. Engraved on one heart-shaped plate is "FROM ALASKA'S GOLDEN HEART." On the other heart is "FAIRBANKS JULY 16th 1923." The collar was made for President Warren G. Harding's Airedale terrier, Laddie Boy, and dates from 1923.
