Legal documents comprise Kipling's will and papers concerning the Estate of Cecil John Rhodes. Printed materials include books owned by Kipling, clippings, and miscellaneous catalogues, programs and pamphlets.

Also included are three small collections of Kipling material formerly owned by H.H. and S.S. McClure, E.W. Martindell, and Alan D. Wilson. McClures' material comprises correspondence (concerning Kipling and the publishing company), writings (primarily about Kipling), and memorabilia (clippings, photographs, and miscellany). The E.W.Martindell Collection contains correspondence between Martindell and collector W.A. Kirkman, writings (typescript copies of 29 uncollected and unverified Kipling verses), and memorabilia, mostly clippings. The Alan D.
