Layout: Written in 17-19 long lines. Text proper begins at 5v and ends at 124r.
Script: Written in a cursive hand of the 17th century.
Binding: Bound in limp vellum, probably contemporary with the manuscript; includes three narrow strips of medieval binding waste fragements with writing in what appears to be a 14th-century Gothic hand.
Origin: Presumably written in the Netherlands, starting in February of 1630 as per inscription at 5v.
Provenance: 1. Belonged to Stephanus van Delen as per inscriptions at 1v and 143v -- 2. Inscription at 2r: "Nicolaus à Delen, anno 1668, 24 Januarij" -- 3. Purchased from Beijers, 13 January 1953.

Description: 144 leaves : paper ; 193 x 150 mm. bound to 201 x 148 mm.

Abstract:

A list of Latin expressions and phrases with facing Dutch translations, apparently copied by Stephanus van Delen, beginning in February 1630. His ownership inscription, at 1v, matches the writing found throughout the manuscript. Text proper begins at 5v and ends at 124r. Starting at 102r is a list of quotations, in the original Latin, from several classical authors, including Cicero, Horace, Martial, Sallust, and Tacitus, among others. Leaves blank from 124v-142r. Numerous inscriptions in a 17th-century cursive hand, in Latin, from 142v-144r, especially at 143v-144r.
