摘要:
"Based on a 2003 conference under the sponsorship of the Merrill Advanced Studies Center, University of Kansas, this edited volume presents chapters by prominent scholars on the relationship between developmental language and reading disabilities. The chapters cover a range of topics, including the neurological basis of phonological awareness and reading, hereditability of word reading and phonology skills, and literacy outcomes for children with oral language impairments. The foreword written by Reid Lyon, Chief of the Child Development and Behavior Branch, National Institutes of Health, discusses the importance of the research presented in this volume for improving the language and reading skills of children and adolescents.
This book will be useful to scholars in language disorders and reading disabilities as well as to speech-language pathologists, special educators, and reading specialists. It would also be an excellent book for graduate courses or seminars in language disorders or reading disabilities."--BOOK JACKET.
