"One of Britain's most acclaimed artists, Parker possesses an acute eye for the possibilities of materials and an unrivaled skill in making the cliché come to life with new meaning. This exhibition marks the reopening of the Whitworth and several works shown are the result of unique collaboration between the artist and University of Manchester scientists. It includes career-defining works such as Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View and The Distance (A Kiss with String Attached) alongside many of her drawings and new, specially made works of art, including War Room, War Machine, Jerusalem (Occupied Territory), and Blakean Abstract."
