Abstract:

Jonathan Hunt (1716-1782) son of John and Margaret Moore Hunt of Hopewll, N.J., grandson of John and Johanna Hunt of Newtown, L.I., and Hopewell, N.J., was born at Hopewell, New Jersey. He married (1) abt. 1738 at Hopewell, Mary Smith (1720-1757), daughter of Andrew and Sarah Stout Smith of Hopewell; (2) Isabel Hampton (d. 1761), daughter of David Hampton; and (3) Margaret Lowrance (b. 1740), daughter of John and Mary Perkins Lowrance. He had nineteen children by his three wives. Descendants live in North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and elsewhere.
