Abstract:

This episode of The Green Interview features Osprey Orielle Lake, an artist, activist, and advocate for social and environmental justice. Lake is the founder and president of the Women's Earth and Climate Caucus, and co-chair of International Advocacy with the Global Alliance for The Rights of Nature. She is also the author of Uprisings for the Earth: Reconnecting Culture with Nature, which has been described as, "a frank inquiry into a varitey of causes leading to our current global peril, which also provides a deep well of hope and profound insight." In addition, she is the sculptor behind the international Cheemah Monument Project, creating 18-foot bronze sculptures to be installed in a variety of locations around the world. In this Green Interview, Lake begins by discussing her impressions of the remarkable summit meeting of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature that was held in Quito, Ecuador in January 2014.
