Abstract:

Twenty years after leading the on-camera demonstration of dance therapy entitled Looking for Me (item 52196), Dr. Janet Adler produced the first filmed sessions featuring authentic movement, an embodied awareness practice with roots in dance, somatic healing, and mysticism. In this film, the renowned teacher and therapist conducts an exploration of the spontaneous movement experiences of eight professional women as they discover the relationship between moving and witnessing. Discussions and demonstrations focus on the process of compassionate witnessing, learning how to see and be seen clearly in the presence of one another, inviting consciousness, and enhancing the integration of body and spirit.
