This is a fun little volume for readers of popular works on evolution. Sterelny compares two thinkers who liked to firmly disagree with one another: Stephen Jay Gould and Richard Dawkins. He examines the legacy of various of their ideas in four areas--punctuated equilibrium and adaptationism being two of them.Sterelny shows that in some areas, each of their ideas have faired better than others. He shows some areas where the two thinkers started out far apart, but where their ideas eventually converged. In other areas, their ideas stayed far apart. Very readable.
