Abstract:

The videotape is of 3 different Moscow schools in which the Soviets talk about their lives within the school. It is a selective depiction by Americans of an aspect of Soviet life and a presentation by a few Soviets of themselves and their daily lives. The study guide includes ideas for introducing and discussing the tape ; a transcript of the tape ; an interview with the makers of the tape ; questions commonly asked by Americans after seeing the tape ; and an extensive bibliography and resources list.
