Script: rounded Italian textura (littera bononiensis). Text initials placed in the margins; gloss initials set into columns of text. One-line capitals, paraphs, and running titles alternate red and blue. Binding: 18th cent., with arms of Pius VI and the cardinal librarian Francesco S. de Zelada. Origin: Written and penwork decoration executed in Bologna, probably between ca. 1285 and ca. 1300; illuminated in France, probably Paris, ca. 1300-ca. 1310.
