Written in reply to the "Sandwich Islanders," an article which appeared in the Quarterly review for March, 1827; that article professed "to be drawn up from the 'Voyage of His Majesty's ship Blonde, ' from the 'Narrative of a tour through Hawaii, or Owyhee, by Mr. Ellis, the missionary, ' and from unpublished letters of Captain Beechey."
"Postscript" (p. 81-142)--made up of letters and press notices "shich completely corroborate and authenticate the statements and reasonings of ... M̈r. Orme's ̈letter."
