提要:

A formula for determining the number of beavers (Castor canadensis), by age groups, in an average family is discussed. The formula is based on the assumptions that a colony has a dominant breeding pair, 1.5 years or older, as its basic unit and that the observed age distribution is a true representation of the actual population. Records on number of colonies trapped are not required.
