Abstract:
This article describes four projects that use the DDC in new and innovative ways: Renardus, the European Union project whose goal is to provide users with integrated access to subject gateways and other Internet-based, distributed services; the cooperative project between the Library of Congress(LC) and OCLC to develop a prototype for a new reference service based on the Collaborative Digital Reference Service (CDRS) pilot; and two OCLC Office of Research projects that are exploring new approaches to browsing, navigation and the display of results sets.
