The Diabetic Bible   (2010-06-21)

Most people with diabetes start out on the wrong foot. They don't understand why they have diabetes and they don't understand how food effects diabetes. They usually start with the same preconceptions about diabetes that I did. "Focus on sugar intake". This will eventually lead you to the same failed results which effected me. I though since I had reduced sugar intake that my diabetes was under control. I substituted all my normal foods for sugar free and fat free foods. The result was that my blood sugar levels "glucose" went up, not down.
This book helped me understand the relationship between foods which supply energy to the body in the form of carbs and how to control those. All people will benefit from the knowledge in this book (diabetic or not), it will help anyone who wishes to control their diet (intake of food). This is not a diet book, nor does it define a special diet for diabetics only. This is and encyclopedia of knowledge about how food works with your body. An easy to understand read, it explains the basics of how food works and provides you the building blocks for proper diet understanding which leads to control. Anyone who wants to understand how your body works with food, should read this book. And the best issue is it can be found in most places for less than the price of a standard restaurant meal. Take control of your life..... get this book
