Notes: As of 1950, according to the newsclipping, the original diary was in the possession of Mrs. Grace Vrooman Wickersham of Juneau, Alaska. Her father was Sidney Vrooman, her grandfather, Henry Vrooman. Rachel Vrooman, the sister of Sidney, married William E. Colby, one of California's leaders in the conservation movement.
