Also includes Gilbert family items and the Newman family. Some images photographed by J.L. Lovell of Amherst Mass. and many items annotated by Martha Dickinson Bianchi.

Photographs include the following formats: cabinet photographs, ambrotype, cartes-de-visite, daguerreotypes, group portraits, photograph on milk glass, portraits, proofs, tintypes, and others. Other materials include: clippings, drawings, engravings, engraving plate, lithographs, notes, and postcards.

Includes daguerreotypes of the following individuals: John Long Graves; Lavinia Norcross Dickinson; Susan Huntington Dickinson (4 items); Austin Dickinson; and Martha Gilbert Smith.
