Abstract:

This film documents events, personalities, and disparate points of view that surround the cancellation of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's scheduled speech at Montreal's Concordia University on Sept. 9, 2002. Campus administrators cancel the speech, which was arranged by the Jewish student group Hillel, after a violent clash between anti-Netanyahu student protesters and campus riot police. The film follows three Concordia students in the wake of the protest: Samer Elatrash (a member of Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights and the son of Palestinian refugees), Noah Sarna (co-president of the campus Hillel), and Aaron Mate (vice president of the Concordia Student Union and a Jewish supporter of Palestine solidarity).
