Abstract:

Part of a 26-part introductory course in psychology that offers an overview of historic and current theories of human behavior and features demonstrations, classic experiments and simulations. Program 23 discusses recent research that is reexamining the relationship between mind and body and is leading to a new bio-psycho-social model to replace the traditional biomedical model. Focuses on the work of health psychologists studying social and environmental conditions that put people at risk for physical and psychological disorders. Program 24 examines how psychological research is applied to practical situations in the areas of human factors, law, conflict negotiation, promotion of peace and health, the study of sleep and sleep disorders, and in the courts.
