Wonderful, accurate rendition of one of the world's greatest short stories

This film artfully and accurately captures Horton Foote's screenplay of the brilliantly-written, multi-layered story by that master short-story writer (whose short story collection was last year named "best-of-the best" of the 60 National Book Award winners): the great Flannery O'Connor. This story was beautifully filmed on O'Connor's own farm (Andalusia, near Milledgeville, Georgia) and features a stellar cast who convey the spirit (and often the actual words) of O'Connor's cautionary tale. It's great fun to see actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Henry Fonda, John Houseman, Irene Worth, and Robert Earl Jones (James Earl Jones's father) treat this story with such conscientious care and talent. For thoughtful viewers: highly recommended!
