Description: 115 pages : illustrations ; 21 cm
Contents: Divine songs. --
Almighty God, thy piercing eye --
And now another day is gone --
Angels, that high in glory dwell --
Be you to others kind and true --
Bless'd be the wisdom and the power --
Give to the Father praise --
Great God, to thee my voice I raise --
Great God, with wonder and with praise --
Happy the child whose youngest years --
Hosanna to king David's son --
Hosanna to the prince of grace --
Hosanna to the son --
How doth the little busy bee --
How glorious is our heavenly king --
I sing th' almighty power of God --
Let children that would fear the Lord --
Let dogs delight to bark and bite --
Lord, how beautiful 'tis to see --
Lord, I ascribe it to thy grace --
Love God with all your soul and strength --
My God, who makes the sun to know --
Now let the father, and the son --
O 'tis a lovely thing for youth --
Our tongues were made to bless the Lord --
The praises of my tongue --
There is a God that reigns above --
There is beyond the sky --
This is the day when Christ arose --
Thou shalt have no more gods but me --
To God the father, God the son --
What blest examples do I find --
Whatever brawl disturbes the street --
Whene'er I take my walks abroad --
Why should I join with those in play --
Why should I love my sports so well --
Why should I say "'Tis yet too soon" --
Why should our garments, made to hide --
With all thy soul love God above. Moral songs. --
Abroad in the meadows, to see the young lambs --
How fair is the rose! what a beautiful flower --
How fine has the day been! how bright was the sun --
Hush, my dear! lie still, and slumber --
These Emmets, how little they are in our eyes --
Though I'm now in younger days --
'Tis the voice of the sluggard : I heard him complain --
Why should I deprive my neighbour.
Other Titles: Watts's divine & moral songs
