Abstract:

The family Stone: When Everett brings his fiance Meredith home to meet his family for the Christmas holiday, it's an instant disaster. Everett's family members agree that Meredith is way too uptight to be welcomed into their family, although Everett's brother, Ben, tries to give Meredith the benefit of the doubt. Wanting to please Everett and get along with his family, Meredith recruits her sister to help her thaw the Stone family cold front.

The secret life of bees (based on the novel by Sue Monk Kidd): Lily Owens is a young girl who lives on the peach farm that her abusive father owns. Rosaleen is a black woman hired by Lily's father to be a stand in mother for Lily. When Rosaleen insults some of the biggest racists in their town, she and Lily run away to the town where Lily believes her mother once lived. Taken in by the three Boatwright sisters, Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping.
