Summary:	This paper proposes a mechanism for using the Dublin Core for search and retrieval in Z39.50. Consensus agreement on this proposal is needed from the Z39.50 Implementors Group and from the Dublin Core community. This paper is not a tutorial on Z39.50. A minimal understanding of Z39.50 is necessary to understand the details of this discussion.
