Jones' collection and translation of early Arabic poetry is extensive.  It includes poetry from a variety of periods and a variety of genres.  However, its lack of an index made mining the source for information relevant to my research topic difficult.  Likewise, the table of contents is organized by poem author, and readers lacking pre-existing knowledge of poets, themes, and time periods, would be lacking in information.  Though Jones does provide an introduction, his comments on themes and literary analysis are scant, so the resource isn't very helpful for those looking for explanations of the early Arabic poetry featured in the text.
