|Notes:||Authors, including Negroes, arranged alphabetically, with biographical and critical sketches written to show the characteristic French spirit which has left an impress in Louisiana, followed by the author's works including English titles of those writing in both languages. The location of a copy of the work is given, if known. While information about the periodical literature is scattered under the names of the founders or editors, the author's "Bibliography of the French newspapers and periodicals of Louisiana", published in the American antiquarian society's Proceedings for Oct. 1932 and separately by the Society in 1933, serves in the nature of a supplement for that part of the French publications of Louisiana.|
